Nice Winning Streak For the Prez Continues
Feb. 16, 2010
Just a quick one to share the above chart, showing how President Obama's stimulus bill – the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed one year ago – has helped start to improve the US economy by turning around, then slowing, and now all-but-eliminating the job losses that have afflicted this country over the last few years.
And while the Administration knows that all the problems it inherited are yet to be solved (and some will unfortunately linger for years), they also believe – and we agree – that there are reasons to be cautiously optimistic. As the above chart makes clear, the United States clearly appears on the road to a more full economic recovery.
…But, of course, more remains to be done…and it is good to see that creating jobs is likely President Obama's – and the Congressional Dems’ – top priority in the coming months. Add that to the recent string of policy-related and rhetorical wins (such as the State of the Union speech, the stunningly effect "Question Time" session with the GOP, and the healthcare reform openness and challenges to those opposing it), and it appears that the President is on a decent little winning streak. Could the "learning curve" have been a bit more fully processed by now by our intelligent, cautious, and foresightful President? It appears so – and we can’t wait to see these notable improvements continue…
