LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW BY CLICKING THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM
As some of you know, on Monday October 5, Michael and I interviewed Republican U.S. Senate Candidate, Andy Martin, on The Stonecipher Report's radio show on 88.5 WHPK (or online at WHPK.org).
After Michael and Andy had previously battled it out in our comments section here at TSR Online, Mr. Martin agreed to join us for a civil, yet argumentative conversation on the air.
We discussed everything from Mr. Martin's name change to the Illinois Wine industry to his theory that President Obama was not born to Barack Obama Sr., rather that he was born to civil rights activist, Frank Marshall Davis. We never got around to asking why President Obama took Obama Sr.'s name instead of Davis's, but maybe next time we have Mr. Martin on the show, or if he responds to this post we'll get an answer.
Anyhow, you can hear the whole hour of our show, including the 40 minute interview with Andy Martin by clicking on the link below. You need to check it out within the next five days however, because as of right now it is only set up as a temporary file. I am going to try to find a way to get it posted permanently, but for now, this should work.
By the way, the interview begins right around the 19:10 mark and the talk about Mr. Martin's theory on who President Obama's real father is begins just after the 44:30 mark. Enjoy!
I'll give him this much (after our entertaining, at-times frustrating, 3-guys-trying-to-maintain-control-of-the-conversation interview) -- Martin certainly maintains an open, communicative sense of humor. He sure ain't no "standard-issue" / "Don't ask me that" / multi-level-filtered sorta politician...
That said...neither does he seem to have a tendency to provide straight, full-depth answers to most questions -- instead, they seem to provide him with a launching-off point for his rambling, semi-pre-set rhetoric about the current state of politics and his approaches to it. You almost gotta admire his dedicated ability to be able to steer things where he wants them to go -- and (as our experience Monday proved), good luck trying to get that rhetorical steering wheel back outta his somewhat-tightly-clenched hands.
Much like a die-hard "Intelligent Design" supporter blithely dismissing evolutionists with the comeback that, "Well, that's just your opinion vs. mine...and neither 'theory' can be fully proved (or disproved)"...Martin seems to present arguments -- such as the ones about "Why did Obama come to Chicago?" and "Is his father Obama Sr. or Davis?" -- that cannot be properly answered (except by not-likely-forthcoming Presidential attention). And, so on goes his chattering debate topics...
Still -- it's almost too bad that he'll be lucky to finish even third in the GOP Senate primary...because it'd be a heckuva kick to have a US Senator who'd answer his own phone calls and even perhaps deign to talk to jamochs like Tyler and me (but, then again, there's the possible actual lunacy factor, so...I guess I'll instead settle for potential Sen. Giannoulias not knowing me from Joe Blow)...
